Job Description:
A South Florida real estate developer is seeking a Director of Development to play a central role in a large-scale, ground-up mixed-use project. Working directly with ownership, this individual will coordinate architects, consultants, contractors, and other project partners while helping guide the development from design through construction. This is a high-profile, complex project offering significant responsibility across its residential, hospitality, and commercial components. The position is based full-time in the company's Fort Lauderdale office. Responsibilities Lead the development process for a large-scale, ground-up mixed-use project. Work directly with ownership on project planning, design, construction, and execution. Manage and coordinate external architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders. Review architectural plans and provide practical direction based on design intent, constructability, cost, and project requirements. Oversee project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and consultant performance. Identify and resolve design, coordination, and construction issues that could affect the project. Maintain alignment among ownership, the design team, construction partners, and other stakeholders. Provide clear reporting on project progress, risks, priorities, and key decisions. Qualifications Degree in Architecture required. Professional experience working in architecture before transitioning into real estate development, construction, or owner-side project leadership. Significant ground-up development and construction experience. Experience managing large, complex residential, hospitality, or mixed-use developments. High-rise development experience strongly preferred. Ability to effectively manage architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams. Strong understanding of architectural design, construction documentation, constructability, scheduling, and project execution. South Florida development experience preferred. Florida architectural license is not required. Must be able to work full-time from the company's downtown Fort Lauderdale office. Ready to help bring a major South Florida development to life?
