We specialize in the installation, service, maintenance, and inspection of commercial and residential fire sprinkler systems. We are looking for a dependable Junior Fire Sprinkler Apprentice/Fitter with some hands-on experience in fire sprinklers, plumbing, pipefitting, mechanical work, or construction. Extensive fire sprinkler experience is not required. We are willing to train someone who already knows how to work safely on a construction site, is comfortable using hand and power tools, follows instructions, and genuinely wants to learn the fire sprinkler trade. Competitive pay based on your skills and experience Full-time, consistent work Opportunities for overtime On-the-job fire sprinkler training Health insurance, with 50% of the employee premium paid by the company 401(k) retirement plan with Safe Harbor contributions and employer matching Paid sick leave and PTO Paid holidays One week of paid vacation after 1 year Opportunities to advance into fitter and foreman positions Long-term career opportunity with an established South Florida company Supportive team environment where reliability and quality work are valued Position Responsibilities Assist with the installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems Help install steel and CPVC fire sprinkler piping Assist with installing sprinkler heads, fittings, valves, hangers, and related equipment Measure, cut, assemble, and connect pipe and tubing under the direction of an experienced fitter or foreman Learn to thread and groove steel pipe Safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, threading machines, and grooving machines Load, unload, organize, and properly handle tools and materials Follow instructions provided by the foreman and experienced crew members Learn to read basic blueprints, shop drawings, and measurements Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow company policies, job-site procedures, and safety requirements Properly care for company tools, materials, vehicles, and equipment Report material shortages, job-site problems, or safety concerns to the foreman Work professionally with coworkers, contractors, customers, inspectors, and other trades Arrive on time and be ready to work each day Required Qualifications Some previous hands-on experience in fire sprinklers, plumbing, pipefitting, HVAC, mechanical work, or construction Experience safely using common hand and power tools Basic mechanical ability and willingness to learn Ability to take measurements and perform basic construction-related math Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Dependable, punctual, and accountable Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physically demanding work Ability to work well as part of a construction crew Commitment to job-site safety Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Reliable transportation Willingness to travel to job sites throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties Availability to work occasional nights, weekends, or overtime when required Preferred but Not Required Previous fire sprinkler installation experience Plumbing or pipefitting experience Experience working with steel or CPVC pipe Familiarity with Fire Sprinkler heads, fittings, valves, or hangers Experience using threading or grooving machines Ability to read basic construction drawings or blueprints OSHA or construction safety training Physical Requirements The employee must be able to perform the following duties, with or without reasonable accommodation: Lift and carry materials weighing up to 75 pounds Climb ladders and work from lifts Bend, kneel, reach, and work overhead Use hand and power tools for extended periods Perform physically demanding work in indoor and outdoor construction environments Work safely at different heights and in varying weather conditions The Person We Are Looking For We are not expecting you to know everything about fire sprinkler systems on your first day.
