•75,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications Ashco is a well-established company with a steadily growing project portfolio which we are excited about. As a result of this growth, we are seeking a highly qualified and detail-oriented Florida-Licensed Architect to join our commercial construction team. The successful candidate will have a strong combination of architectural experience and extensive drafting and construction-documentation experience, with the ability to contribute throughout the design and construction process. The position requires an architect who understands both the technical requirements of architectural design and the practical realities of commercial construction. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly with project managers, superintendents, contractors, subcontractors, engineers, consultants, and clients to ensure that projects are properly designed, documented, coordinated, permitted, and constructed. The architect will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating architectural drawings and construction documents for commercial projects and will provide ongoing architectural support throughout the construction process.

Architectural Documentation:

Prepare, develop, review, and modify architectural plans, construction documents, details, elevations, sections, schedules, and 3-D models for commercial construction projects.

Design & Construction Coordination:

Coordinate architectural drawings with structural, civil, MEP, fire protection, and other consultant documents; identify conflicts, omissions, and constructability issues.

Code & Permitting:

Ensure architectural work complies with the Florida Building Code, accessibility requirements, zoning requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Assist with permitting and plan-review responses.

Construction Support:

Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, proposed changes, and field conditions; conduct site visits and assist project managers and field personnel in resolving architectural and construction issues.

Project & Document Management:

Maintain accurate project drawings, revisions, files, and documentation while participating in project meetings and coordinating architectural deliverables with project schedules.

Technical Software & Modeling:

Strong digital 3-D modeling skills with proficiency in one or more of the following: AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino-Grasshopper, or Cove. Qualifications Active Florida Architect License required, with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience as a licensed architect, with approximately 10 years of prior architectural drafting and design experience strongly preferred. Commercial construction experience required, preferably in retail, shopping centers, tenant improvements, or ground-up commercial development. Strong proficiency in architectural design and construction documentation, including AutoCAD and/or Revit, with a solid understanding of building systems, construction methods, materials, and the Florida Building Code. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and work effectively with contractors, engineers, consultants, project managers, superintendents, and clients. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. Because this position works closely with both the architectural and construction sides of the business, the ability to translate architectural concepts and documentation into practical construction solutions is essential. The ideal candidate will be proactive in identifying potential problems, responsive to project needs, and comfortable taking ownership of assigned responsibilities. Strong judgment, communication, organization, and the ability to work effectively with a variety of professionals are essential to success in this position. A substantial background in architectural drafting and construction documentation is highly valued.
