Job Description
Asphalt Paving Systems (APS) is seeking motivated and dependable Asphalt Lab Technicians to join our team in Hammonton, NJ. Position Summary The Lab Technician will assist with the testing, evaluation, and quality control of asphalt materials to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards. Successful candidates will be detail-oriented, safety-focused, and willing to work a flexible schedule that may include days, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed. Responsibilities Perform laboratory testing on asphalt and construction materials. Record and maintain accurate test results and documentation. Follow established testing procedures and quality control standards. Prepare and handle material samples for testing and analysis. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment. Assist with equipment setup, calibration, and maintenance. Communicate testing results and observations to supervisors and project personnel. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Willingness to work days, nights, weekends, and overtime as required. Ability to work up to 60 hours per week during peak periods. Preferred Qualifications CTQP (Construction Training Qualification Program) Certification preferred. Previous laboratory, quality control, construction materials, asphalt, or related experience is a plus. Level I and/or Level II certifications highly desired.
