Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Asphalt tradesman to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for finish raking, rolling, and screed hand backup. Your expertise will ensure that asphalt projects meet industry standards and client specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors on diverse construction sites helping the crew to achieve an excellent product for the customer. Duties Operate various types of asphalt rollers (e.g., vibratory rollers, pneumatic tire rollers, static rollers) safely and efficiently to achieve proper compaction and density of asphalt mixes. Assist the paving crew with all phases of asphalt work, including site preparation, shoveling, raking, and spreading hot asphalt mixture. Communicate effectively with the crew as well as management to successfully perform job duties. Operate various hand tools and small power tools safely (e.g., shovels, rakes, brooms, tampers, plate compactors). Help maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored. Ability to work independently without supervision to complete the project. Skills Construction site experience with a focus on asphalt paving and asphalt maintenance. Outdoor work experience in various weather conditions with a focus on safety and accuracy in data collection. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience in asphalt paving, specifically including operating asphalt rollers/finish raking/knowledge of screed is a plus . The ability to rake and shovel asphalt profeciently is required. Please only apply if you have actual asphalt experience and are not at the beginning stages of learning. Ability to perform strenuous physical labor, including standing, walking, bending, shoveling, lifting (up to 75 lbs repeatedly), and working in hot and cold weather conditions. Strong work ethic and a reliable, punctual attendance record. Willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors. Commitment to safety on the job site. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from job sites in the Caldwell, ID area.
