Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic construction team as an Asphalt Laborer and be a vital part of creating smooth, durable roadways and paving projects. In this energetic role, you'll work alongside skilled operators and crew members to assist in asphalt paving, site preparation, and heavy equipment operation. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help ensure safety, efficiency, and high-quality results on every project. Duties Assist with asphalt paving operations by preparing the site, spreading materials, and ensuring proper compaction. Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and front loader trucks under supervision to support paving projects. Load and unload materials using dump trucks and loaders, maintaining safety protocols at all times. Perform utility locating to identify underground utilities before excavation or paving begins. Maintain a clean and organized worksite by removing debris, securing tools, and ensuring safety barriers are in place. Support the crew with site setup, traffic control, and safety inspections throughout each project phase. Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to promote a safe working environment for everyone on site. Experience Previous construction site experience is highly preferred, especially in paving or roadwork environments. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and dump trucks is a strong plus. Knowledge of utility locating techniques and safety practices related to underground utilities. Experience working with Caterpillar machinery or similar heavy equipment brands is advantageous. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining physical stamina. Strong teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward learning new skills on the job.
