In person Job Overview We are seeking experienced and dependable Heavy Diesel Mechanics and a 2nd Shift Lead
- Master Diesel Mechanic to join our shop team. These positions will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of diesel trucks, trailers, light
- and medium-duty vehicles, and equipment while helping ensure our fleet remains safe, reliable, and operating efficiently.
We are hiring for both Heavy Diesel Mechanic and 2nd Shift Lead positions . The ideal candidates will have strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, a solid understanding of diesel systems, and the ability to work independently. The 2nd Shift Lead will additionally be responsible for overseeing shop operations during the 4:00 PM-12:00 AM shift, providing direction to other technicians, prioritizing repairs, inspecting completed work, and communicating repair needs and maintenance concerns with management.
Compensation Heavy Diesel Mechanic:
$30
- 40 per hour, based on experience 2nd Shift Lead
Master Diesel Mechanic:
$40- 45 per hour, based on experience and leadership qualifications Key ResponsibilitiesHeavy Diesel Mechanic Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and heavy-duty equipment.
Inspect, diagnose, and repair air brake, hydraulic, suspension, and electrical systems. Diagnose and repair diesel after-treatment and emissions systems. Perform clutch adjustments and repairs. Perform preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, and equipment. Diagnose and repair gasoline-powered service vehicles and equipment. Diagnose and repair small engines and seasonal equipment as needed. Use diagnostic software and computer-based systems to troubleshoot equipment. Perform welding, fabrication, and general metal repair. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and shop equipment. Maintain accurate service and repair records. Communicate repair status, parts needs, and maintenance concerns to management. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop. Complete repairs in accordance with company and DOT standards. 2nd Shift Lead
- Master Diesel Mechanic In addition to the responsibilities above, the 2nd Shift Lead will: Lead and oversee shop operations during the 2nd shift.
Provide direction, support, and guidance to other technicians. Help prioritize repairs and identify maintenance concerns to minimize vehicle downtime. Communicate repair status, parts requirements, and maintenance updates with management. Ensure technicians are completing repairs properly and efficiently. Inspect completed repairs for quality and proper workmanship. Ensure required preventative maintenance and inspections are completed. Help hold technicians accountable for quality workmanship and company standards. Ensure repairs and maintenance are completed according to company and DOT standards. Work independently while managing and coordinating the needs of the 2nd shift. QualificationsHeavy Diesel Mechanic Professional diesel mechanic experience preferred; experience level will be considered when determining pay. State mechanical certifications preferred/required as applicable. Valid driver's license required. CDL-A is a plus. Strong knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines. Strong knowledge of diesel after-treatment and emissions systems. Strong understanding of air brake, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and electrical systems. Experience with diagnostic software and computerized diagnostic equipment. Welding and fabrication experience required. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Must have your own professional mechanic tools. Strong communication skills. Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to quality workmanship. Additional Qualifications for 2nd Shift Lead 8+ years of professional diesel mechanic experience preferred. Previous leadership, lead mechanic, foreman, or supervisory experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead and direct other technicians. Ability to inspect and evaluate the quality of completed repairs. Ability to prioritize repairs and manage shop workflow. Strong communication skills with both management and technicians. Ability to hold technicians accountable for quality workmanship and proper procedures. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during the 2nd shift. What We Offer $30
