Responsibilities Operate an asphalt paver screed to lay asphalt with precision, ensuring consistent thickness and smoothness across surfaces Maintain and perform routine inspections on paving equipment. Assist with the setup of construction sites by ensuring proper alignment before paving begins Follow safety regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards to maintain a secure work environment at all times Collaborate with team members to coordinate paving schedules and ensure timely project completion Conduct basic math calculations for measurements, material quantities, and leveling adjustments during paving operations Perform minor mechanical maintenance on heavy equipment to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance Skills Proven experience operating paving equipment such as asphalt paver screeds and skid steers in construction or civil infrastructure projects Familiarity with asphalt paving operations and techniques Ability to adhere strictly to safety protocols, including DOT regulations and site-specific safety procedures Working knowledge of construction machinery maintenance routines and basic math skills for measurements and calculations Experience working on construction sites with a focus on civil infrastructure roles in asphalt paving operations.
