Job Description
Job Summary Join the Cape Fear Asphalt, LLC team as a member of our growing Asphalt Paving Crews! We are seeking experienced Paving Foremen, Paver Operators, Screed (Jack) Operators, Roller Operators, Lute / Asphalt Rakers, and General Laborers. As a crew member, you will team with skilled professionals to prep and lay down high-quality asphalt surfaces, ensuring durability and safety for our communities. Your hands-on involvement will include operating heavy equipment, assisting with project-related tasks, and maintaining safe and efficient jobsites. Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment such as skid steers, rollers, compactors, and pavers as well as using manual hand tools to prepare and perform paving operations. Perform paving activities including spreading asphalt, ensuring proper compaction, and creating smooth surfaces. Maintain safety standards by inspecting equipment, adhering to site safety protocols, and keeping jobsites clean and organized. Collaborate with team members on-site to coordinate tasks efficiently and meet project deadlines. Conduct routine maintenance on machinery and tools to ensure optimal performance throughout the project. Skills Familiarity with paving processes including asphalt laying and compaction. Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment issues quickly on-site. Ability to work safely on jobsites while following all safety procedures. Strong teamwork skills with excellent communication abilities. Experience Three (3) or more years of experience in asphalt paving preferred. Willingness to learn multiple tasks of the grading and/or paving operation. Must be at least eighteen (18) years or older. Available to work nights, weekends, and/or out of town as needed. Must have a good work ethic, be dependable, and work as a team player. Maintain a good attendance and safety record.
