In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating paving equipment to lay asphalt and concrete surfaces efficiently and safely across various construction projects. Your expertise will help ensure high-quality paving work that meets project specifications, safety standards, and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute daily projects while working with state-of-the-art machinery in a dynamic environment. Duties Operate asphalt pavers, screeds, and related paving equipment to lay asphalt and concrete surfaces with precision and consistency. Maintain and perform routine inspections on construction machinery, including heavy equipment, paving equipment, loaders, and concrete mixers, ensuring optimal performance and safety compliance. Assist with the preparation of construction sites by managing rebar installation, concrete pumping, and other foundational tasks as needed. Follow safety regulations diligently, including DOT regulations, construction site safety protocols, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Conduct basic math calculations for material measurements, thickness levels, and equipment settings to ensure accurate paving results. Support the maintenance of construction machinery by performing minor repairs or reporting issues promptly to mechanics. Collaborate with team members on site to coordinate paving operations, manage materials such as bituminous materials and concrete, and ensure smooth workflow throughout the project duration. Experience Proven experience operating paving equipment such as asphalt pavers, screeds, loaders, and concrete mixers on construction sites. Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance and troubleshooting. Familiarity with working on civil infrastructure projects involving asphalt paving, concrete work, rebar installation, and concrete pumping. Knowledge of safety regulations including DOT (Department of Transportation) standards and general construction site safety protocols. Ability to perform heavy equipment operation safely in diverse weather conditions while adhering to all safety guidelines. Experience working with construction materials such as bituminous materials, concrete, and related supplies in a fast-paced environment. Valid commercial vehicle license or ability to obtain one; experience with commercial truck driving is a plus.
