Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Screed Operator to join our civil infrastructure team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the operation and maintenance of paving equipment, ensuring the precise application of asphalt and concrete on large-scale construction projects. Responsibilities Operate and supervise paving equipment such as screeds, asphalt pavers, concrete pumps, and loaders to ensure smooth and accurate surface finishes. Monitor and maintain construction machinery, including routine inspections, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and coordinating repairs to minimize downtime. Lead the preparation and placement of bituminous materials and concrete, adhering to project specifications, safety protocols, and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Oversee rebar installation, concrete mixing, and paving processes to ensure quality workmanship on civil infrastructure projects. Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and crew members to plan daily operations, coordinate material deliveries, and meet project deadlines. Enforce safety regulations on-site by conducting safety meetings, ensuring proper PPE usage, and adhering to all safety protocol requirements. Maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance, material usage, work progress, and safety compliance for project documentation. Skills Extensive knowledge of heavy equipment operation including paving machines, loaders, concrete mixers, and screeds. Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and maintaining construction machinery. Experience working with bituminous materials, concrete pouring, paving techniques, and asphalt applications. Familiarity with construction site procedures including rebar installation and concrete pumping. Ability to perform basic math calculations related to measurements, quantities, and project specifications. Knowledge of safety regulations including OSHA standards and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations relevant to construction sites. Proven experience in working on civil infrastructure projects with a focus on paving operations. Valid commercial truck driving license preferred for transporting materials or equipment as needed.
