Chemung Contracting is hiring hardworking, safety-conscious individuals to join our Paving Crew ! We have openings for experienced team members across a variety of paving roles. Whether you're operating equipment or supporting the crew on the ground, you'll be part of a team that builds and maintains roads throughout Central Virginia. Now hiring for the following positions: Paver Operator MTV (Material Transfer Vehicle) Operator Screed Operator Roller Operator Luteman / Raker General Laborer / Ground Crew Quality Control (QC) Field Technician Lab Technician Responsibilities (varies by position): Operate and maintain paving equipment such as pavers, rollers, MTVs, and screeds Perform manual tasks including raking, shoveling, and handwork to ensure a smooth asphalt surface Assist with daily equipment setup, inspections, and breakdown Support general job site operations including material handling, traffic control, and cleanup Conduct field or lab density testing (for QC and Lab Tech positions) Communicate clearly with crew members and supervisors Follow all safety procedures and wear required

PPE Qualifications:

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Ability to work outdoors in variable weather and physical conditions Willingness to learn and take direction [Preferred but not required] Previous experience in paving or construction [Preferred] VDOT or related testing certifications for QC/Lab roles
