Position Description Assists in assembling, analyzing defects in, and repairing boilers, boiler auxiliaries and ancillaries, pressure vessels, tanks, and vats in field, following blueprints and using hand tools and portable power tools and equipment. This will be completed in a safe and timely manner with the highest quality possible. Job Responsibilities Cut or drill holes to accommodate the passage of pipe. Assist Pipe Fitters in the layout, assembly, and installation of piping. Supply pipe, elbows, flanges, hangers or supports to the fitter. Cut to correct length, bevel and thread pipe as directed. Fit or assist in fitting valves, couplings, or assemblies to tanks, pumps, or systems using hand tools. Bolt, clamp and support components for welding. Assist with testing and flushing requirements. Keep fitter supplied with tools and equipment. Mount brackets and hangers on walls and ceilings to hold pipe and set sleeves or inserts to provide support for pipe. Disassemble and remove damaged or worn pipe. Perform general housekeeping duties and keeps work area clean. Other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications Preferred 24 to 36 months' experience working in the construction field Must be at least 18 years of age Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb, bend, twist, stand and reach repetitively.
