Associate Machinery Specialist Position Overview:
Starr Boiler and Machinery Division is seeking qualified and motivated applicants to fill apprenticeship positions for our Associate Machinery Specialist positions. This full-time role is open to candidates residing within the eastern U.S. holding an engineering degree, or High school diploma with 3 years' experience in boiler servicing and/or operation of high-pressure boilers. Successful candidates will have a clean driving record with a valid driver's license, pass a background check, be a motivated self-starter with good organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with clients and coworkers. They will be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. They will be capable of performing internal boiler inspections, with the ability to pass a fit-for-duty evaluation. Travel and overnight stays are required.
Key Responsibilities:
Learn basic boiler and pressure vessel operations and mechanical principles. Learn ASME, NBIC, and jurisdictional regulations through guided instruction and self-study. Act as an apprentice to conduct jurisdictional inspections of regulated boilers and pressure vessels, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. Perform 300 boiler and pressure vessel inspections under instruction. Complete knowledge checks and perform practical applications in conducting boiler and pressure vessel in-service inspections. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively. Pass the National Board exam to obtain an "IS" designation within 12 months of employment.
