Job Description
Great Lakes Boiler is a small boiler repair company based in Galion, OH. Great Lakes Boiler is seeking an experienced Boiler technician for our staff. Experience in pipe work and boiler tube labor is required. Passing an ASME Section IX weld test will be a requirement upon hiring. Experience with steam traps, boiler controls, and troubleshooting heating systems is a plus. As a Boiler technician, you will be involved in various tasks related to boiler repair and installation, including:
- Perform a hydro test on boilers and hydronic systems
- Accurately diagnose tube failures during a hydro test
- Remove and replace boiler tubes
- Perform weld repairs to pressure vessels and boilers
- Open and closing of fireside and waterside boilers
- Combustion analysis and adjustment
- Basic boiler control troubleshooting
- Simple job estimation skills: how long will this take to complete?
- Completing additional duties as directed Requirements
- Valid Driver's License
- Welding certification
- Passing an ASME Section IX weld test will be a requirement upon hiring
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, or a strong desire to learn and develop these skills.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting heavy equipment, working in hot confined spaces, and standing or kneeling for extended periods in hot environments.
- Successful completion of a drug screen upon pre-employment. Schedule
- A typical work week is Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week with opportunities for overtime. Some weekend work will be available.
- Our service area extends from Cleveland to South of Columbus.
