JOB SUMMARY
The Stone & Masonry Jobsite Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the successful installation of Visionmakers' custom stone and masonry projects. This position leads field crews, coordinates closely with the Stone Project Scheduler and sales team, monitors project schedules and budgets, and ensures each job is completed safely, efficiently, and to Visionmakers' high standards for craftsmanship and customer service. The Superintendent serves as the primary field leader, proactively identifying and resolving issues, managing jobsite conditions, supporting customers and installers, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with exceptional quality. The ideal candidate is a leader, problem solver, and experienced field professional who takes ownership of their work.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required
- Strong understanding of stone and masonry installation preferred
- Previous experience managing or directing installation crews or subcontractors, high-end residential preferred
- Ability to read CAD drawings and construction plans
- Excellent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship
- Ability to manage multiple projects and crews simultaneously
- Professional and confident when communicating with clients
- Comfortable documenting projects with photos, communicating by text, and maintaining digital job records
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in outdoor jobsite conditions as needed
- Valid Arizona driver's license and a clean driving record (a company vehicle will be provided for business use)
- Must be dependable, punctual, professional, and willing to take full ownership of assigned projects
- Must demonstrate honesty, integrity, and sound judgement when representing Visionmakers in the field
RESPONSIBILTIES PROJECT SCHEDULING & COORDINATION
- Work closely with the Stone Project Scheduler (SPS) to plan and execute installation schedules.
- Provide accurate estimates of projected installation durations and resource requirements.
- Review project scope, CAD drawings, plans, materials, and site conditions prior to installation.
- Work with the SPS to assign projects to appropriate crews and balance workloads.
- Provide timely updates regarding project progress, schedule changes, delays, or unforeseen conditions.
- Coordinate pickups, deliveries, and material movement through the SPS.
- Communicate potential scheduling issues before they impact the customer or project schedule.
COMMUNICATION & CUSTOMER SERVICE
- Maintain consistent, clear, and professional communication with the SPS throughout every project.
- Provide the SPS with timely updates so customer communications remain accurate and current.
- Respond promptly to requests from the SPS and office team, with a target response time of 30 minutes during working hours.
- Communicate professionally with customers, builders, designers, contractors, installers, and vendors.
- Help manage customer expectations and resolve field issues while maintaining Visionmakers' standards of service.
- Represent Visionmakers professionally at all times and ensure the customer experience reflects the quality of our work.
INSTALLATION & FIELD LEADERSHIP
- Provide installers with the Job Start Packet and project information before work begins.
- Recruit, train, develop, and manage installation personnel.
- Clearly communicate project scope, CAD drawings, marked-up plans, installation requirements, and quality expectations to crews.
- Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor progress, workmanship, safety, and site conditions.
- Identify and resolve installation issues proactively.
- Verify that all required materials are available, correct, and ready before and during installation.
- Ensure installations conform to approved designs, CAD drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and Visionmakers quality standards.
- Ensure jobsites remain safe, organized, professional, and clean.
- Perform final blue-tape/punch-list inspections before project completion.
- Ensure projects are completed efficiently and according to schedule.
PROJECT COSTS & PROFITABILITY
- Work with the SPS to monitor project budgets and installation costs.
- Ensure projects are completed efficiently and within established labor budgets.
- Review and accurately complete installer work/pay forms.
- Identify and communicate unexpected costs or conditions immediately.
- Help identify opportunities to prevent unnecessary labor, material, and scheduling costs.
- Assist with change orders by determining field conditions, scope, quantities, and labor requirements.
Final customer approval is handled by the sales team.
PROJECT CLOSEOUT & DOCUMENTATION
- Coordinate final project walkthroughs and ensure outstanding items are identified and completed.
- Complete required job completion documentation for billing.
- Document project progress and completed work with photographs and videos.
- Maintain accurate Daily Jobsite Checklists and project documentation.
- Coordinate the removal, return, or proper storage of leftover materials.
- Communicate completed projects and outstanding items to the SPS in a timely manner.
- Assist with after-sales service, repairs, warranty-related work, and punch-list items.
SALES & COMPANY SUPPORT
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand project scope and expectations before installation.
- Provide field expertise and site measurements to support the sales team when needed.
- Help identify potential scope, site, or installation issues before they become problems.
- Provide high-quality photos and videos of completed projects for marketing and social media.
- Maintain awareness of local construction, labor, and industry trends.
- Help maintain strong relationships with installers, subcontractors, vendors, builders, and other industry partners.
