Job Description
Overview We are seeking an experienced full-time Brick Mason to join our team. This role involves a wide range of masonry tasks, including measuring and preparing work areas, mixing and applying mortar, laying bricks, and performing brick and masonry repairs. Work may include chimney repairs as well as interior masonry projects within residential homes. This is a great opportunity for a skilled professional looking for steady, hands-on work in a supportive environment. Overtime, including Saturdays, may be required during peak seasons. Duties Candidates must have experience; Full knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of the bricklaying and masonry trade; Thorough knowledge of the safety requirements and state code relating to the bricklaying and masonry trade; Thorough knowledge of all types of brick and masonry construction, their common and unusual breakdowns and standard repair procedures; Manual dexterity; sufficient strength and endurance to work with brick and other masonry materials on a continuous basis; Skill to learn quickly and acquire necessary skills to successfully complete all tasks; Able to maintain a professional and service oriented relationship with customers and co-workers; Knowledge in preparing and maintain accurate records and reports; Present a neat, clean appearance at all times; Able to perform physical labor including: heavy lifting, bending, stooping, and twisting; Ability to work on scaffolds at varying heights. Build masonry scaffolds safely according to specifications to access elevated work areas securely. Execute mortar work with experience in mixing and applying mortar for bonding bricks and stones effectively. Read construction plans thoroughly to interpret specifications for building material installation and ensure compliance with safety protocols at all times. Skills Extensive masonry experience with a focus on bricklaying, stone masonry, concrete masonry units (CMUs), and stucco application. Proficiency in using hand tools (trowels, chisels), power tools (drills, saws), heavy equipment operation (forklifts or cranes when necessary), and construction equipment. Strong knowledge of construction estimating processes for material quantities and project timelines. Knowledge of safety protocols related to construction sites including scaffold building and heavy equipment operation. Capable of renovation work involving existing structures with attention to detail in drywall finishing and stucco application. Excellent understanding of construction site procedures including interpreting technical drawings for framing (metal stud framing) or masonry projects.
