We run tight, well-supplied jobsites and expect our foremen to lead them that way. The Role We're hiring an experienced Masonry Foreman to run crews in the field. You'll own the wall from layout to punch list — production, quality, safety, and the people doing the work. This is a leadership position for a journeyman who knows the trade and can keep a crew productive and safe while keeping the general contractor's schedule on track. Responsibilities Lead and direct masonry crews of bricklayers and laborers on assigned projects Lay out walls, openings, control/movement joints, and elevations from architectural and structural drawings Interpret plans, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals; identify conflicts early and raise RFIs through the project manager Plan daily and weekly production goals; sequence work to meet the project schedule Coordinate scaffold, mast climber, forklift, mixer, and crane needs with the yard and project management Verify material deliveries, manage on-site material and staging, and control waste Enforce all company, OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements, and lead pre-task planning Maintain quality standards for coursing, plumb, level, tolerances, tooling, cleaning, flashing, reinforcing, grouting, etc. Complete accurate daily reports, labor and hour tracking, delivery tickets, and photo documentation Coordinate daily with the general contractor's superintendent and other trades Train, mentor, and evaluate apprentices and journeymen; enforce attendance and workmanship expectations Support the project manager with as-built quantities, change order backup, and progress for billing Qualifications Required Journeyman bricklayer with [5+] years of commercial masonry experience, including [2+] years leading crews as a foreman or lead Proficient in brick, CMU, and cast stone installation on commercial-scale projects Able to read and work from architectural, structural, and shop drawings Strong layout skills — transit/laser level, story pole, coursing calculations OSHA 30, or the ability to obtain it within 90 days Valid driver's license and clean driving record Reliable, punctual, and able to hold a crew to the same standard Preferred Scaffold Competent Person and/or aerial lift and forklift/telehandler certifications Experience on prevailing wage, public, healthcare, or institutional work Experience with mast climbers Familiarity with restoration or cast stone setting Compensation and Benefits $56.20 per hour, paid weekly, with overtime at [time and a half over 8/40] Company gas card for job-related travel Vehicle allowance Health and welfare benefits through the union, per the collective bargaining agreement Pension and annuity contributions through the union, per the collective bargaining agreement Steady, year-round work with an established local contractor Company-provided PPE/training/tooling Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50-75 pounds repeatedly; stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb throughout the shift; work at heights on scaffold and lifts; and work outdoors in Wisconsin weather conditions.
