Position Overview As an Experienced Carpenter / Lead Carpenter, you'll play a key role in executing residential remodeling projects while maintaining the craftsmanship and professionalism that define Gridley Company. Depending on your experience, you'll either work independently on complex carpentry tasks or provide day-to-day leadership and mentorship to field team members while partnering closely with our Project Managers. We're looking for someone who can produce excellent work, communicate effectively, and represent our company professionally on every job site. Key Responsibilities Carpentry & Craftsmanship Perform rough and finish carpentry on residential remodeling projects. Install cabinetry, trim, doors, windows, flooring, and other finish components. Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project details. Ensure all work meets Gridley Company's quality standards. Project Execution Complete work according to project schedules and milestones. Coordinate effectively with Project Managers, designers, subcontractors, and trade partners. Identify field issues early and help develop practical solutions. Maintain organized, clean, and safe job sites. Leadership Lead by example through professionalism, craftsmanship, and accountability. Mentor apprentices and less experienced carpenters. Help coordinate daily field activities to keep projects moving efficiently. Maintain positive communication with homeowners throughout the project. What We're Looking For 5+ years of residential remodeling carpentry experience. Strong rough and finish carpentry skills. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications. High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work independently. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Preferred Qualifications Previous Lead Carpenter or crew leadership experience. Design-build remodeling experience. Strong understanding of residential building methods and best practices. Experience working directly with homeowners in occupied homes. Compensation $35-$42 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and ability to perform the role independently. Why Join Gridley Company?
