Skilled Deck Carpenter — Decks by DeCamp Santa Cruz / Monterey Bay, CA | $35-$45/hr DOE, plus productivity bonuses DeCamp Construction is hiring a skilled Deck Carpenter to join one of our deck-building crews as the second — working directly under a foreman on custom composite and wood deck projects. We need someone who already knows framing, ledger work, stairs, and finish carpentry, and who can move fast without cutting corners. Why this role pays more than a typical carpenter job: Every job is bid with an estimated hour budget. As your crew works, you can track progress live on an app on your phone — how many hours you've used, how many you have left. If the crew finishes under budget, the dollar value of the time saved is split between the company and the crew. That means the faster and more efficiently you build, the more you take home — on top of your hourly rate. Depending on the month, crew members in this role typically see an extra $300-$800, sometimes more, and foremen have seen over $1,000 in a strong month. What you'll do: Frame, build, and finish custom residential decks — wood and composite Work stairs, railings, ledger installation, footings, and structural framing Read and work from plans with precision Keep job sites clean, safe, and organized Operate saws, impact tools, and standard carpentry power tools Work as the second on a crew, supporting the foreman and helping bring less-experienced crew members up to speed What you need: 1-2+ years of hands-on carpentry/deck-building experience Your own bags, saws, impacts, and hand tools Reliable transportation — a truck with a rack and the ability to pull a trailer are a plus Physical ability to lift 60+ lbs, work on ladders, and work outdoors in varying weather A driver's license Ability to commute across our service area — job sites range from Boulder Creek to
