Monday-Friday, occasional Saturdays as needed About Sumac Construction Sumac Construction is a long-established, family-run general contracting company specializing in high-end custom residential construction throughout San Diego's coastal communities. Since 1977, we have built a reputation for quality craftsmanship, well-organized job sites, and long-term client relationships. Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and reliable Residential Finish Carpenter with at least 3 years of hands-on Carpentry experience to join our field team. This role is ideal for a framer who takes pride in precision, understands structural plans, and can work efficiently on complex, custom homes. Key Responsibilities Finish Carpentry Doors Windows Base/Trim Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of residential Carpentry experience Strong understanding of framing methods, structural components, and jobsite sequencing Ability to read plans and perform accurate layout Experience with custom homes and high-end residential projects preferred Proficient with standard framing tools and equipment Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical work outdoors Reliable transportation and consistent attendance Preferred Qualifications Experience with complex rooflines,or remodel/addition framing OSHA-10 certification Leadership experience or interest in mentoring junior crew members What We Offer Competitive hourly pay based on experience and performance Steady, year-round work on high-quality residential projects Opportunity for long-term growth and advancement Professional, respectful, and well-managed job sites Work with an experienced, tight-knit construction team
