Caliber Contracting San Diego Full-Time | San Diego County Job Summary Caliber Contracting San Diego is looking for an experienced Residential Remodeler to be the onsite working Foreman on our residential remodeling team. We specialize in interior remodels, ADU and garage conversions, electrical upgrades, and other residential construction projects throughout San Diego County. This is a hands-on working lead position. You will spend most of your day working with tools while also taking responsibility for the construction work happening on your project. Depending on the project, you may work independently or lead a small crew of two additional team members. We're looking for someone who has 5+ years in residential remodeling. Our projects vary, but typical responsibilities include: Residential framing Installing doors, windows, cabinets, baseboard, trim, and finish carpentry Drywall installation, repair, and patching Performing general remodeling and construction work Assisting with minor plumbing tasks such as PEX, drains, and fixture installation when needed Reading and working from construction plans, details, and scopes of work Planning the work and determining the materials and tools needed to complete your tasks Directing and working alongside a helper or junior technician when assigned Coordinating with the Project Manager and subcontractors Identifying field problems and helping develop practical solutions Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe jobsite Taking ownership of the quality and completion of your work

Who We're Looking For:

The right person for this position is an experienced construction professional who can work independently without needing someone to explain every step of a project. You should be comfortable walking onto a residential remodel, reviewing the plans and scope, and getting to work. Required Qualifications 5+ years of hands-on residential construction or remodeling experience Strong skills in at least one major residential construction trade, preferably framing, finish carpentry, windows/doors, or trim Broad understanding of residential construction and the sequence of trades Ability to read and interpret construction plans Ability to perform layout and framing from plans and field dimensions Strong problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and take responsibility for assigned work Ability to lead and work alongside a small crew Good communication with coworkers, Project Managers, subcontractors, and customers Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to jobsites throughout San Diego County Personal hand tools appropriate for your trade Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. and safely work from ladders when required Helpful Experience The following experience is a plus, but we don't expect one person to be an expert at everything: ADU or garage conversions Kitchen and bathroom remodeling Finish carpentry Cabinet installation Drywall repair and finishing Door and window installation Basic residential plumbing Familiarity with California and San Diego-area residential construction requirements Bilingual English/Spanish What We Offer Full-time employment Health insurance Paid holidays Variety of residential remodeling projects Small crews where your experience and abilities matter Opportunity to take ownership of projects rather than simply being assigned individual tasks Opportunity for increased responsibility as the company grows A company that values quality workmanship, problem-solving, reliability, and taking care of our customers About Caliber Contracting Caliber Contracting San Diego is a local construction company serving homeowners throughout the greater San Diego area.
