Job Title:
Carpentry Laborer Job Description This role focuses on the construction, repair, and refurbishment of mobile office trailers. You will perform a variety of hands-on tasks, including installing furniture and electrical components, completing light plumbing and drywall work, and carrying out basic patching and painting. You will work in a fast-paced environment where you support multiple large projects over several weeks, contributing directly to the safe, functional, and professional appearance of each trailer unit. Responsibilities Assist with the construction, repair, and refurbishment of mobile office trailers from start to finish. Install and secure furniture and fixtures inside mobile office trailers according to specifications. Install and assist with basic electrical components and systems within trailer units as directed. Perform light plumbing tasks, including basic repairs and installations, to ensure trailers are fully functional. Carry out drywall installation, patching, and finishing to prepare interiors for painting and occupancy. Complete basic patching and painting of interior and exterior surfaces to maintain a clean, professional appearance. Use carpentry skills to repair or build structural elements, framing, and interior finishes as needed. Read and interpret tape-measure readings accurately to ensure precise cuts and installations. Support home remodel-style tasks such as minor carpentry, fixture installation, and finishing work within trailers. Perform building, facility, and property maintenance tasks related to trailer units and surrounding areas. Communicate effectively with customers, sales staff, contractors, shop personnel, and employees at other branch locations as needed. Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting quality, safety, and project timeline expectations. Construction experience, including light plumbing, electrical, drywall, and carpentry work. Hands-on skills in plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, construction, and building maintenance. Experience with home remodel, handyman, facility maintenance, or property maintenance tasks. Ability to accurately use a tape measure and perform precise measurements and cuts. Good communication skills for interacting with customers, sales people, contractors, shop personnel, and employees at various branch locations. Current valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Experience with mobile office trailers, modular buildings, or similar structures is beneficial. Experience in home remodel or handyman work that includes finishing, repairs, and installations. Previous facility or property maintenance experience supporting multiple projects or locations. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot minor construction and maintenance issues. Reliability and punctuality for early-morning shift start times. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bakersfield, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
