Job Description

Summary Northwestern Millwork, a leading provider of high-quality millwork products in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, is seeking an experienced Part-Time Custom Door Production Technician to support our door production team. This is a hands-on position focused primarily on the production and manufacturing of custom doors. The ideal candidate has previous experience in door manufacturing. We will also consider candidates with strong hands-on experience in cabinetry, millwork, woodworking, or a similar production environment who are comfortable operating machinery and working accurately from specifications. We are looking for someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and comfortable working as part of a small team. Spanish-speaking candidates are encouraged to apply. English fluency is not required. Qualifications 1. Work Experience Previous experience in door manufacturing or door production is strongly preferred . Experience in cabinetry, millwork, woodworking, finish carpentry, or a similar field will also be considered. Experience safely operating woodworking, millwork, or other production machinery and power tools. Experience working in a shop or production environment where accuracy, measurements, and quality control are important. 2. Physical Requirements Ability to be on your feet for much of the workday. Ability to safely lift and carry materials weighing up to approximately 50 lbs. Ability to safely handle doors, lumber, and other millwork materials. Responsibilities 1. Door Manufacturing and Machine Operation Operate door manufacturing machinery and tools safely and according to established procedures. Machine and prepare doors according to individual job specifications. Assemble door components as required for production. Follow work orders, measurements, specifications, and production instructions carefully. Work with the production team to complete door orders accurately and on schedule. Assist with preparation, assembly, and other hands-on production tasks as needed. 2. Quality Control Inspect doors and components throughout the production process for accuracy, quality, and defects. Confirm that finished products meet job specifications and Northwestern Millwork quality standards. Report production problems, damaged materials, equipment issues, or quality concerns promptly. Make or assist with appropriate corrections when needed. 3. Material Handling and Shop Support Safely move and handle doors, lumber, and other production materials throughout the shop. Assist with loading, unloading, organizing, and staging materials when needed. Maintain an organized work area that supports an efficient production flow. 4. Safety and Equipment Care Follow all established shop and equipment safety procedures. Properly use required personal protective equipment. Keep machinery, tools, and work areas clean and in good working condition. Assist with routine equipment maintenance and promptly report equipment problems or malfunctions. 5. Team Collaboration Communicate clearly with other members of the production and warehouse team. Work cooperatively to keep projects moving efficiently and meet production deadlines. Be willing to assist with related shop or warehouse tasks when needed to support the team. Skills and Qualities Skilled and comfortable working with tools and machinery. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good practical problem-solving skills. Safety-conscious and careful when working with machinery and materials. Reliable, dependable, and consistent. Able to follow established processes and specifications. Comfortable working independently once trained while also collaborating closely with a team. Pay:
$30.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 16.0 - 24.0 per week
