Property Damage Restoration & Reconstruction Position Summary PuroClean of East Bridgeport is seeking a dependable, skilled Reconstruction Technician / Carpenter to perform repair and reconstruction work following water, fire, mold, sewage, storm, and other property damage. This position is responsible for helping return residential and commercial properties to their pre-loss condition after mitigation work has been completed. The ideal candidate is experienced in multiple construction trades, takes pride in quality workmanship, and is comfortable working directly with customers in homes and businesses. Primary Responsibilities Perform residential and commercial reconstruction and repair work. Install, repair, finish, and replace drywall/sheetrock. Perform interior and exterior painting and preparation. Complete framing and general carpentry work. Install baseboards, casing, trim, doors, and other finish carpentry. Repair walls, ceilings, and other building components damaged during mitigation. Install or assist with flooring, including laminate, vinyl plank, and other common flooring materials. Perform minor demolition when required for reconstruction. Match existing finishes as closely as reasonably possible. Measure job sites and calculate material requirements. Load, unload, transport, and maintain tools and construction materials. Maintain clean and organized job sites. Protect customers' belongings and unaffected portions of the property during construction. Follow project scopes, work orders, drawings, estimates, and instructions from project management. Photograph and document job progress and completed work. Identify additional or unforeseen damage and immediately report it to the Project Manager. Communicate professionally with homeowners, property managers, subcontractors, insurance representatives, and other members of the restoration team. Complete punch-list items and assist with final job-site inspections. Follow company safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements. Preferred Skills & Experience Experience in several of the following areas is preferred: Carpentry Drywall installation and finishing Painting Framing Trim and finish carpentry Door installation Flooring Cabinet installation Basic tile work General residential remodeling Property damage restoration/reconstruction Experience working on insurance restoration projects is a plus but not required. Qualifications Previous construction, carpentry, remodeling, maintenance, or restoration experience preferred. Ability to use common hand and power tools safely. Ability to accurately measure and cut construction materials. Ability to read and follow written scopes of work. Strong attention to detail and quality. Good communication and customer-service skills. Dependable and able to work independently or as part of a crew. Ability to maintain a professional appearance and attitude while working in occupied homes and businesses. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to pass company employment requirements. Physical Requirements The position requires the ability to: Regularly lift and carry construction materials, tools, and equipment. Perform physical work for extended periods. Bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work from ladders. Work in residential, commercial, basement, attic, and construction environments. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment when required. Work Schedule This is primarily a full-time position. Normal work is performed during regular business hours; however, restoration is an emergency-service industry, and occasional overtime, evenings, weekends, or emergency assignments may be required.
