Position Summary:

Apply knowledge and skills of trade disciplines to produce a finished set adhering to project deadline. Communicate with Construction Supervisor and various team members to ensure successful set build outcome.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Read, understand, and execute construction from detailed drafted plans, sketches, drawings and blueprints.

Prepare sketches, if needed.

Build (from scratch) windows, doors, floors specialty moldings with appropriate finishes.

Layout and construct sets (i.e. walls, floors, windows, doors, etc.) Wallpaper and/or paint set and construct paneling/molding work.

Wire sconces, chandeliers, recessed lighting.

Layout and install tile and grout.

Assemble and disassemble set construction elements at Studio and on location, repair any damage. Save all important elements to stock and materials to reuse.

Install wall decor (i.e. paintings, shelves, etc.)

Install drapery hardware, blinds, wall decor, lighting, etc.

Organize and maintain a safe, clean shop and shop equipment.

Maintain shop inventory, reorder as needed, store materials following OSHA safety guidelines.

Operate vehicles to and from locations and material vendors.

Communicate with designers, stylists, photographers and art directors to understand and provide specific construction needs.

Provide technical advice/concerns, communicate any deadline issues.

Interact with building personnel, report issues or repairs needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of five (5) years carpentry experience with work in stucco, plaster, tile, electrical, painting, faux work, finishing, and architectural mill work.

Forklift operation.

Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, etc.

Deadline oriented.

Ability to work overtime as required.
