Building & Remodeling is looking for an experienced, dependable, and motivated Lead Carpenter to join our growing team. If you are a skilled carpenter who takes pride in your craftsmanship, knows how to lead by example, can solve problems in the field, and enjoys seeing a project come together from start to finish, we want to hear from you. This is an opportunity for someone who wants to be more than just another carpenter on a job site. We are looking for someone who can lead a crew, take ownership of the work, maintain high standards, communicate with the Project Manager and customers, and help deliver exceptional remodeling projects.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for a Lead Carpenter who brings both strong construction skills and strong leadership skills to every project. Craftsmanship Advanced knowledge of residential rough and finish carpentry. Ability to produce high-quality work with excellent attention to detail. Strong understanding of layout, measurements, materials, and construction methods. Ability to read and understand plans, drawings, specifications, and measurements. Comfortable performing remodeling and renovation work from demolition through completion. Takes pride in doing the job correctly—not simply getting the job done. Leadership Able to lead Carpenters, Apprentices, Laborers, and other assigned field personnel. Leads by example through attitude, work ethic, craftsmanship, and professionalism. Knows how to organize the day's work and keep a crew productive. Comfortable teaching and mentoring less-experienced employees. Can identify what needs to be done without waiting to be told. Holds themselves and their team accountable for quality, safety, cleanliness, and productivity. Problem-Solving Thinks ahead and identifies potential problems before they become expensive problems. Can make sound decisions in the field. Knows how to troubleshoot unexpected construction issues. Communicates problems and proposed solutions to the Project Manager promptly. Understands that remodeling projects often require flexibility and creative thinking. Professionalism & Customer Service You will often be working inside our customers' homes. We are looking for someone who understands that the way we work is just as important as the work we perform.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
As a Lead Carpenter, you will be responsible for helping drive the successful completion of residential remodeling and construction projects.
Your work may include:
Leading daily carpentry activities. Performing advanced rough and finish carpentry. Organizing daily work and assigning tasks. Directing Carpenters, Apprentices, and Laborers. Coordinating work with subcontractors and other trades. Reading plans and establishing accurate layouts. Verifying measurements before construction. Monitoring materials and identifying shortages. Maintaining productivity and helping keep projects on schedule. Inspecting completed work for quality and accuracy. Completing punch-list items. Maintaining a clean and safe job site. Protecting customer property. Properly using and securing tools and equipment. Following and enforcing company safety standards. Communicating project progress and concerns to the Project Manager. Helping train and develop less-experienced employees. Taking ownership of the quality and completion of assigned work.

WHAT YOU
BRINGRequired Significant residential carpentry experience. Strong rough and finish carpentry skills. Ability to read and interpret construction plans. Strong measuring and layout skills. Strong problem-solving ability. Demonstrated ability to lead a small construction crew. Excellent attention to detail. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently. Dependable attendance and transportation. Commitment to safety and quality. Preferred Residential remodeling experience. Custom construction experience. Journeyman-level or advanced carpentry experience. Previous crew-lead or supervisory experience. Building-code knowledge. OSHA or construction safety training.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The position requires the ability to: Lift and carry materials and equipment. Stand, kneel, bend, crawl, climb, and work from ladders. Work for extended periods while performing physical construction activities. Safely operate a variety of hand and power tools. Work in varying weather and job-site conditions.
