Job Title:
Finish Carpenter Job Description This role focuses on installing high-quality commercial cabinetry, casework, doors, trim, and specialty finishes while supporting various phases of commercial construction projects. You will work from blueprints and construction documents to deliver precise, detail-oriented finish carpentry that meets project specifications and quality standards. Responsibilities Install commercial cabinetry, casework, countertops, and related finish components with a high level of precision. Set, align, and install hollow metal, steel, and wood doors, including frames and associated hardware. Install base trim, crown molding, window trim, wall panels, and specialty finishes to meet design and specification requirements. Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and construction documents to plan and execute work accurately. Assist with concrete-related construction activities, including forming, layout, patching, finishing, and miscellaneous site work as needed. Measure, cut, and assemble materials accurately using hand tools and power tools to ensure proper fit and finish. Coordinate daily activities and sequencing of work with project superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and other trades to maintain project schedules. Perform quality control inspections to verify that all work meets project specifications, standards, and client expectations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with OSHA standards and company safety practices. Complete punch-list items and final finish work prior to project turnover to ensure a polished, ready-for-use space. Support various phases of construction projects as workload demands, including general carpentry and related tasks. Essential Skills 3+ years of finish carpentry experience preferred, particularly in commercial environments. Hands-on experience with commercial cabinetry, architectural millwork, and door and frame installation. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and construction documents accurately. Knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, and standard building practices. Experience working around concrete construction and general carpentry tasks. Proficiency in the safe and effective use of hand tools, power tools, lasers, and measuring equipment. Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to high-quality craftsmanship. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively as part of a team. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to job sites as required. Ability to lift more than 50 pounds and perform physical work throughout the day, including standing, bending, and working at various heights. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in finish carpentry across multiple project types, including commercial interiors and architectural millwork. Background in framing, drywall, and related carpentry disciplines. Comfort working with a variety of materials and finishes to achieve precise and consistent results. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing site conditions and project priorities. Effective communication skills for coordinating with supervisors, subcontractors, and other trades. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based on active commercial construction sites where you will work with tools such as saws, drills, sanders, lasers, and various measuring equipment. The workday typically involves full-time hours on-site, performing physically demanding tasks such as lifting, carrying, bending, and working from ladders or scaffolding. You will work closely with superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and other trades in a coordinated, safety-conscious environment that follows OSHA standards. The dress code generally includes appropriate workwear and personal protective equipment suitable for a construction setting, such as work boots, durable clothing, and required safety gear. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mankato, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
