Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Carpenter / Lead Carpenter to join our dynamic construction team. Responsibilities Lead and supervise carpentry crews on residential construction, remodeling, and restoration projects, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to specifications. Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans to guide project execution. Perform advanced carpentry tasks including framing, trim work, siding installation, drywall finishing, door hanging, tile laying, stucco application, and fixture installation. Operate hand tools, power tools for woodworking, woodworking machines, and heavy lifting equipment safely and effectively. Manage onsite safety protocols related to power tool use, rebar installation, plastering, mold remediation, water damage restoration, caulking, and other specialized tasks. Estimate project materials accurately using construction estimating techniques; order supplies as needed to maintain workflow. Ensure adherence to building codes, safety regulations (including power tool safety), and quality standards throughout all phases of construction. Collaborate with project managers to coordinate schedules and communicate progress or issues promptly. Assist in training junior team members in proper carpentry techniques and safety procedures. Maintain a clean and organized worksite while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Requirements Proven experience in residential carpentry with a strong background in framing, trim carpentry, drywall finishing, siding, tile laying, and fixture installation. Extensive knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading (interpreting technical drawings), and understanding of construction plans. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools for woodworking, woodworking machines, heavy lifting equipment and related safety practices. Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively on-site with excellent communication skills. Familiarity with building materials such as wood construction materials; experience with stucco application and rebar installation is a plus. Experience working on restoration projects including water damage repair, mold remediation or water damage restoration is preferred. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting while maintaining safety standards. Knowledge of drywall installation/finishing techniques along with plastering skills is desirable. Strong understanding of construction site safety protocols including power tool safety practices.
