Position Summary:
Buslam Company Partners, Inc. is seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join our construction team. The Carpenter will perform rough and finish carpentry and assist with the construction, installation, repair, renovation, and maintenance of commercial, residential, and public-sector projects. The ideal candidate has hands-on construction experience, understands proper carpentry methods, can accurately use measurements and construction drawings, and is committed to quality workmanship and jobsite safety.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform rough and finish carpentry for new construction, renovations, and repairs. Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and install wood and other construction materials. Build and install framing, walls, partitions, blocking, doors, hardware, trim, cabinets, and other components as required. Construct and dismantle concrete forms and temporary structures when required. Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications, sketches, and measurements. Lay out work and accurately measure materials before cutting or installation. Operate hand and power tools safely and properly. Inspect completed work to ensure proper fit, alignment, quality, and compliance with project requirements. Repair or replace damaged structural and architectural components. Coordinate work with Foremen, Superintendents, Project Managers, laborers, and other trades. Assist with material handling, jobsite preparation, and cleanup as necessary. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition. Follow company safety policies and all applicable jobsite safety requirements. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and immediately report unsafe conditions. Perform other construction-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum [2-3] years of carpentry or construction experience preferred . Experience in commercial construction, renovations, or general contracting preferred. Knowledge of rough and/or finish carpentry techniques. Ability to read a tape measure and perform construction measurements accurately. Ability to read and understand construction plans and drawings. Experience using saws, drills, levels, nail guns, grinders, and other common construction tools. Ability to work independently and as part of a construction crew. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus. Valid drivers license is preferred when driving is required for the position.
Physical & Work Requirements:
This is a physically active construction position. The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including standing and walking for extended periods; bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and working on uneven surfaces; safely lifting and carrying construction materials and equipment as required; and working outdoors in typical South Florida construction-site conditions.
