Construction / Agricultural Manufacturing / Building Materials Position Summary We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Machine Operator / Carpenter / Truss Builder to join our team. This position is responsible for operating production machinery, assembling wood trusses and building components, performing carpentry work, and ensuring finished products meet quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate has experience with power tools, measuring and cutting lumber, operating machinery, and working from blueprints or production specifications. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently as part of a team are essential. Key Responsibilities Operate and monitor production machinery and equipment safely and efficiently. Build and assemble wood roof trusses and other structural components. Measure, cut, and assemble lumber according to specifications and production plans. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, measurements, and work orders. Use hand tools, power tools, saws, nail guns, and other carpentry equipment. Set up machinery and make basic adjustments as needed. Inspect materials and completed trusses for quality, accuracy, and structural integrity. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Load, move, and position lumber and finished products using proper lifting techniques and equipment. Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery and tools. Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements. Work efficiently to meet daily production goals and deadlines. Communicate with supervisors and coworkers regarding production needs, material shortages, or equipment issues. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience in carpentry, construction, manufacturing, truss building, or machine operation preferred. Ability to read measurements and use a tape measure accurately. Experience using hand and power tools. Ability to read basic blueprints or construction drawings preferred. Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn machinery operation. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to lift and move lumber and materials throughout the workday. Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods. Ability to regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to work around machinery, sawdust, noise, and varying temperatures. Must be able to safely operate required tools and equipment.
