401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Opportunity for advancement Paid time off Post Services Inc. - Chicago & North Shore Full-Time | $35-$42 per hour based on experience Post Services is a growing residential remodeling company serving Chicago and the North Shore. We are expanding our in-house field team and looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter who takes pride in quality work, can solve problems in the field, and wants the opportunity to grow into a leadership position. This is a hands-on position working on kitchen, bathroom and whole-home remodeling projects as well as exterior door and window installations. We are also expanding our exterior door and window business. The person we hire will receive paid manufacturer installation training and have the opportunity to become a key part of that growing division. What You'll Do Perform high-quality residential remodeling and carpentry Install exterior entry doors and windows Install cabinets, interior doors, baseboards, trim and millwork Complete framing and carpentry modifications Read plans, measurements and project specifications Troubleshoot existing conditions and installation problems Complete punch-list and warranty work Work alongside and help train a Carpenter Helper Maintain clean, organized and protected jobsites Communicate with Project Managers about progress, materials and jobsite conditions Help maintain company tools and installation equipment Follow company quality-control and installation procedures What We're Looking For 5+ years of residential remodeling or carpentry experience Strong finish-carpentry skills Experience installing exterior doors and windows strongly preferred Experience with cabinets, trim, framing and general remodeling Ability to accurately measure and troubleshoot field conditions Ability to work independently without constant supervision Comfortable working in occupied homes Professional appearance and communication with customers Ability to work effectively with Project Managers and subcontractors Valid driver's license and good driving record Dependable and looking for long-term, full-time employment Compensation & Opportunity- $35-$42 per hour based on experience and demonstrated skill level. Full-time, year-round work. Paid manufacturer training for our expanding exterior door and window installation program. This position has significant growth potential. As our in-house production and exterior door/window operations expand, the right person can grow into a Lead Installer / Field Leadership position and help train additional installers. We're looking for someone who wants to become an important part of a growing company—not simply move from job to job.
