Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and experienced Lead Carpenter to oversee and coordinate all aspects of construction projects involving wood building erection, concrete forming, masonry, roofing, and remodeling. As a key leader on our team, you will manage on-site operations, ensure safety compliance, interpret technical drawings and schematics, and lead a crew to deliver high-quality results. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive project success from start to finish while fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about construction management and craftsmanship. Responsibilities Lead and supervise construction crews in wood building erection, rebar installation, concrete finishing, framing, siding, stucco, and restoration projects. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans to guide project execution accurately. Coordinate the use of hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and other machinery necessary for various construction tasks. Ensure all work complies with safety standards, building codes, and project specifications while maintaining a safe work environment. Oversee the proper use of measuring tools such as tape measures for dimensional measurements and ensure precise execution of carpentry and framing tasks. Manage project timelines, and resource allocation to meet deadlines efficiently. Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to interpret technical details and resolve on-site issues Train team members in specialized skills such as roofing, heavy lifting techniques, metal stud framing, trim carpentry, and siding. Maintain detailed documentation of project progress through reports and logs; ensure adherence to schematics and construction plans. Skills Extensive experience in wood building erection, concrete forming, concrete finishing, roofing, siding installation, stucco application, plastering, remodeling & restoration projects. Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, schematics (including technical drawings), and construction plans accurately. Strong knowledge of rebar installation procedures and concrete finishing techniques. Skilled in the use of hand tools (e.g., hammers, chisels), power tools (e.g., drills, saws), heavy equipment operation (e.g., skidloaders and excavators) measuring devices like tape measures for precise measurements. Ability to read dimensional measurements accurately for framing and carpentry tasks such as trim carpentry & woodworking. Competence in managing construction site activities with a focus on safety protocols and quality standards. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams while providing clear instructions on wood stud framing & other specialized trades. Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to dimensions & material quantities. Experience with schematics interpretation for complex structural or electrical components involved in remodeling or restoration projects.
