Job Description

Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Handyman/Carpenter to join our maintenance team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of repair, maintenance, and installation tasks across residential properties. Your expertise will ensure that facilities are safe, functional, and visually appealing, contributing to a positive environment for residents, clients, and staff alike. Duties Perform general carpentry work including framing, drywall installation, door and window repairs, and cabinetry work Conduct plumbing repairs and maintain plumbing systems, including leak detection and fixture replacement Repair and maintain electrical equipment, troubleshoot wiring issues using schematics and ohmmeters, and ensure electrical safety standards are met Service HVAC systems by inspecting, repairing, or replacing components to ensure optimal operation Carry out maintenance painting on building interiors and exteriors to uphold aesthetic standards Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and programmable logic controllers for various repair tasks Inspect facilities equipment such as HVAC units, electrical panels, plumbing systems, and other mechanical components to identify issues proactively Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in building interior maintenance and facilities upkeep Proficiency with electrical work including troubleshooting electrical equipment repair and understanding schematics Skilled in plumbing system maintenance and repair with knowledge of plumbing codes and safety practices Experience with HVAC system repair, including diagnosing issues using appropriate tools like ohmmeters Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently; welding skills are a plus Familiarity with maintenance, repair, operations (MRO) procedures in residential or commercial settings Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly in English Supervising experience or leadership qualities to oversee projects or junior team members effectively Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is advantageous for troubleshooting automated systems Ability to read technical schematics accurately for complex repairs or installations Experience with building interior maintenance tasks such as painting, drywall work, carpentry projects, and fixtures installation This role is ideal for someone passionate about maintaining high standards of facility safety and functionality.
