Job Description

Description EGC Construction, an operating unit of Messer Construction Co., is currently seeking a Carpenter to join the team. EGC employs more than 120 skilled craft workers that focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. We offer general, commercial and industrial construction including electrical work, millwrights, pipe fitters and structural steel detailers. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of commercial construction and remodeling practices as well as a comprehensive understanding of procedures, techniques, tools, equipment, materials, specifications, quality and cost control measures and safety requirements associated with commercial building.
What You Will Do:
Installation of doors; drill and set door hardware Installation of windows Layout for stairs and common rafters Read blueprints, utilize appropriate math skills and perform layout Form and place concrete footings, piers, walls and columns Pump, place and finish techniques Placement of concrete, slab on grade and elevated decks Crane signals and rigging Effectively communicate and understand both verbal and written instructions Ability to organize, sequence and perform assigned tasks within schedule Steel stud framing Hanging and finishing drywall
What You Will Bring:
High school diploma or equivalent OSHA 10 Certified, preferred Experience operating heavy machinery Minimum of three years' experience Candidates must have transportation Be willing to work within a 50-mile radius Be able to work in a variety of seasonal and weather conditions EGC is a merit shop contractor supporting a Team working environment. All Team members will be required from time to time to perform other duties they are qualified to perform, outside of this job description and their normal work function.
