Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic construction team as a Journeyman Carpenter, where you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality carpentry projects across residential and commercial sites. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your craftsmanship, work with a variety of woodworking and construction materials, and contribute to building and restoring structures that stand the test of time. As a skilled professional, you will be responsible for interpreting technical drawings, executing precise installations, and ensuring safety standards are met on every project. Your expertise will help us create functional, beautiful spaces that meet client specifications and industry standards. Responsibilities Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute projects accurately. Use hand tools and power tools for woodworking, framing, trim carpentry, cabinetry, and fixture installation. Perform residential carpentry tasks such as door hanging, siding installation, flooring, tile laying, and drywall finishing. Construct frameworks using metal studs or wood for walls, ceilings, and other structural elements. Install or repair various fixtures including cabinetry, moldings, stucco finishes, caulking, and water damage restoration components. Operate woodworking machines safely for fabrication and precise cutting of wood construction materials. Assist with concrete forming, rebar installation, masonry work, roofing tasks, and plastering as needed on diverse projects. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to power tool safety protocols and site safety regulations. Collaborate with team members to ensure project timelines are met while maintaining high-quality standards. Qualifications Proven experience as a journeyman carpenter or in a similar construction role with a strong background in carpentry and woodworking. Skilled in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and construction plans. Proficient with hand tools such as saws, hammers, chisels; power tools including drills, saws for woodworking; CNC machines experience is a plus. Knowledge of construction estimating processes and material specifications for wood construction materials. Experience with residential carpentry projects like fixture installation, door hanging, siding application, flooring installation, tile laying; restoration industry experience is advantageous. Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques and safety procedures related to power tools and construction site operations. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during complex fabrication or restoration tasks. Strong understanding of electrical experience related to fixture wiring or electrical components in carpentry projects is desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical schematics accurately. Valid driver's license preferred; certification in power tool safety or OSHA training is beneficial.
