Ryckman Brothers Development is hiring two experienced Deck & Fence Crew Leaders to join our residential construction team. Both positions require a minimum of 4+ years of hands-on deck AND fence construction experience. Applicants must be able to lead projects, work independently, solve problems on the job, direct a small crew and communicate directly with and answer to the Project Manager. Additional experience in other areas of residential construction is a strong plus. Both positions are in-house positions with Ryckman Brothers Development and involve working at residential job sites throughout Genesee and Oakland Counties. We are looking for people who show up, know how to work, take pride in what they build, and can be counted on to get the job done correctly and efficiently without needing to be micromanaged.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Build and install residential decks and fences Lead deck and fence projects from layout through completion Help direct and coordinate a small crew on the job site Perform framing, post setting, decking, railing, and related construction work Install wood, vinyl, privacy, and other common fencing materials Accurately measure and follow layouts and construction plans Use hand and power tools safely and effectively Identify and address construction issues as they arise Keep projects moving efficiently while maintaining quality workmanship Maintain clean and organized job sites Report job-site concerns, unexpected conditions, or project issues directly to the Project Manager rather than discussing them with the homeowner Work independently and as part of a crew Professionally represent Ryckman Brothers Development on customer properties
CREW LEADER REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 4+ years of hands-on deck AND fence construction experience Ability to confidently complete deck and fence projects from layout through completion Strong understanding of residential construction practices Experience with framing and structural deck construction Experience leading or directing a construction crew Ability to identify and solve problems on the job Ability to work independently and keep a small crew productive Dependable, organized, and able to keep projects moving

Reliable transportation to job sites Dependable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Understand and respect job-site roles, communication procedures, and the Project Manager's responsibility for customer/project discussions Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of residential construction work Good communication and professionalism with customers and coworkers Ability to work throughout Genesee and Oakland Counties
COMPENSATION
$18-$22 per hour (depending on experience) Compensation will be based on relevant experience and skill level.
