Job Description

Three Rivers Corporation is seeking a qualified Journeyman Carpenter to join our team, primarily supporting commercial and industrial projects in and around the Wyandotte area. The Journeyman Carpenter will be responsible for performing skilled carpentry work based on blueprints, drawings, specifications, and instructions from supervisors. Responsibilities include laying out, measuring, cutting, assembling, installing, and arranging materials to complete projects safely, accurately, and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial and industrial construction practices, the ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings, and knowledge of applicable building codes and safety requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Measures, marks, and arranges materials to established layout based on blueprints or instructions from supervisors. Cuts and shapes structures, forms, or other fixtures from wood, metal, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall. Uses various hand and power tools to securely build assigned projects. Joins materials with the most appropriate nail, screw, staple, or adhesive. Ensures the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as levels, or framing squares; corrects problems as needed. Creates wooden forms for pouring concrete, strikes and finishes concrete, run concrete machine May erect and dismantle scaffolding Installs doors and hardware, siding, trim and suspended ceilings. Adheres to local building and safety codes and guidelines. Operates equipment such as SkyTrak and Bobcat. Assists in training Apprentice level employees Follows all safety requirements Consistent on-site attendance is a requirement of the job. Requires some travel within the State of Michigan. Performs other related duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience High School Degree or Equivalent Successful completion of vocational school or technical college or apprenticeship program; OR at least four years of experience via on-the-job training required.
