Job Description

About this role Join a busy Charlotte construction crew as a Lead Carpenter overseeing structural and finish carpentry on commercial and multi-family projects. You'll lead small carpentry crews, read plans, set layouts, and perform hands-on framing, bench work, and general carpentry tasks to keep projects on schedule and built right. This is a site-based, full-time role in Charlotte, NC. Expect day shifts with occasional overtime and direct coordination with superintendents and other trades. Bring practical skills, a safety-first approach, and the ability to produce consistent, high-quality workmanship in a fast-paced environment. What you'll do Lead and supervise carpentry crews on site; assign daily tasks and check workmanship Interpret blueprints and layout structural framing, walls, openings, and finish details Perform general framing, rough carpentry, bench work, and precise measuring and cutting Set forms, install blocking, trim, doors, and other finish items as required by scope Maintain tools and equipment, keep work area tidy, and enforce site safety rules Coordinate with superintendents, foremen, and other trades to keep schedules and material flow on track What we're looking for Proven skill in bench carpentry, general rough carpentry, and framing carpentry Strong measuring, cutting, and layout abilities with attention to structural detail Able to read and work from blueprints, plans, and sketches Experience leading small crews and communicating task priorities on site Physical stamina for lifting, climbing, and standing for long periods; reliable attendance and punctuality Qualifications OSHA 10 or equivalent site safety training preferred First Aid/CPR preferred Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to Charlotte job sites Ability to read construction drawings; Spanish language skills a plus Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship or journeyman credential preferred What we offer Full-time, site-based work on local Charlotte projects with steady schedules Health benefits package (medical, dental, vision) and retirement plan options Paid time off and holiday time where applicable Tool allowance or support for essential trade tools Opportunities for trade training and skill advancement; overtime available when needed Ready to apply?
