Job Description

Posting Details This posting will be used for ongoing recruitment and may close at any time. Applicant lists may be screened more than once. Why does the job exist? Provides services as it relates to the upkeep of the grounds and campus of the New Mexico Behavioral Health (NMBHI) Institute and to provide manpower support to other disciplines within the Plant Department. How does it get done? The job gets done by performing tasks such as: Repairs to include, but not limited to: broken windows, broken doorknobs, broken furniture (tables, chairs, roof leaks, and wardrobe closets), doors, and asphalt roads. Who are the customers? Patients/Clients/Residents/Employees Ideal Candidate Patients/Clients/Residents/Employees Minimum Qualification High School Diploma or Equivalent and six (6) months of experience in general building and grounds maintenance, custodial duties, construction, or appliance repair. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) months may substitute for the required experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid NM Driver's License. Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate. Working Conditions This position will perform work at the New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute, both indoors and outdoors. Some standing, walking, stooping, bending and lifting a minimum of one hundred (100) pounds with assistance may be required. Effective 01/01/2015, the New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute became a 100% Tobacco Free/E-Cigarette Free Campus. As such, no tobacco, tobacco products or E-Cigarette products are permitted on any part of the campus. Position may be required to work shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, and call back hours as needed.
