Job Description

CASCELLA & SONS CONSTRUCTION CORP.

LEAD CARPENTER / CARPENTER-MECHANIC
Senior-Level Team Leadership High-End Residential Renovation Central Islip, NY Full-Time $30-$45/hr Based on Verified Experience "We're not looking for someone who 'knows a little of everything.' We need a true Carpenter-Mechanic - someone who can LEAD and DO at the highest level." Who We Are Cascella & Sons Construction Corp. is a family-owned residential remodeling company with 40+ years of deep roots on Long Island. We built this business on doing right by our people and our clients - period. As we grow into larger, more complex, higher-end projects, we are building a production team that reflects our core values: excellence, honesty, and pride in the craft. We are not just another home improvement contractor. Our customers' reviews speak for themselves - read what they say at www.cascellaandsons.com/about/testimonials/ The right person will find a genuine home here. We believe in growing together, rewarding loyalty, and treating every team member with the respect a true craftsman deserves. Let's Be Straight With Each Other We've hired carpenters who told us they could do it all — and too many couldn't back it up. We're done guessing. This ad is for the real deal: a seasoned Carpenter-Mechanic with genuine, verifiable skills who isn't afraid to prove it from day one. If you're the kind of person who shows up, picks up the tools, makes things happen, and has the experience to lead a crew - this opportunity was written for you. The Role This is a hands-on leadership position. You will swing a hammer AND lead the team. You are not a supervisor watching from the sidelines — you are a working lead who sets the pace, sets the standard, and holds everyone accountable. This is a career opportunity, not just a job. What You'll Do Lead a team of carpenters on high-end residential renovation and remodeling projects Perform complex carpentry at a high level: framing, roofing, siding, windows & doors, and finish work Set the daily work pace, delegate tasks, and keep the crew focused and productive Review blueprints and project plans with the Production Manager and execute to spec Identify and troubleshoot problems before they become expensive — adapt on the fly Train and mentor junior carpenters, holding yourself and your crew to the highest standard Communicate professionally with homeowners on-site — you represent this company with every interaction Attend weekly on-site meetings with clients, the Production Coordinator, and the sales team Ensure all work is completed on time, on budget, safely, and to Cascella's quality standards What You Need to Bring The following are non-negotiable. You will be asked to demonstrate these: ✓ 10+ years of hands-on carpentry experience in residential renovation and remodeling ✓ Minimum 5 years of construction supervisory or lead carpenter experience ✓ Thorough knowledge of construction trades: framing, roofing, siding, windows, doors, and finish work ✓ Proven mastery with James Hardie siding and Andersen Windows & Doors (or equivalent premium products) ✓ Real leadership experience — you have run crews and you know how to get results from people ✓ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings with confidence ✓ Strong communication skills — with your crew, the Production Manager, and homeowners ✓ Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation ✓ Clean background and verifiable references who can speak to your work and character ✓ High school diploma or equivalent; some college or construction management coursework preferred You'll Stand Out If You Have Experience with custom dormers, home extensions, and full exterior transformations Experience as a foreman managing multiple crews or concurrent project phases An obsession with finish work and getting every detail exactly right Attributes of Our Ideal Candidate The word "can't" is not in your vocabulary Results-oriented, goal-driven, and persistent under pressure Able to problem-solve independently without waiting for direction Strong organizational skills and unrelenting attention to detail Maintains a positive attitude even when things get tough Professional appearance: company shirts, jeans, and work boots on the job What We Offer You $30-$45/hr — your rate reflects what you can
ACTUALLY
do; we pay fairly for real, proven skill Performance-based bonuses — when the team wins, you win 1 week paid vacation after 12 months + 6 paid holidays Education reimbursement - we invest in your continued growth Stable, full-time position on a growing production team — not gig work High-end, challenging projects that will sharpen your skills and build your portfolio A family culture built on mutual respect, honesty, and doing right by each other Real paths for advancement as the company grows — we bring our people with us "We're not just filling a position — we're building a team. We want someone who wants to be here for the long haul." How to Apply If you've read every word of this ad and thought "This is exactly the kind of place I've been looking for" - then we want to hear from you. Submit your resume and a brief note covering: Your most relevant project experience and the type of work you've led The size of crews you have managed or worked with The specific skills that separate you from the average carpenter Apply on Indeed or info@cascellaandsons.com Cascella & Sons Construction Corp. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
