JOB SUMMARY

We are hiring a carpenter / handyman for our operation at Pier 40. General repairs at Pier 40 and on tour boats. Work includes carpentry, ceramic tile installation, and carpet tile installation both in offices

AND ON THE BOATS

(marine-grade). Painting, drywall, locks, light electrical, light plumbing. NO engine work, NO HVAC

• we have engineers and outside contractors for that.

DUTIES:

• Carpentry
• benches, doors, panels, counters, shelves, trim, small framing, plywood
• Ceramic Tile
• install and repair floors/walls, grouting, caulking (restrooms, kitchen areas)
• Carpet Tiles
• Office + BOATS
• install/replace marine-grade carpet tiles on boat cabins/interiors and offices
• Painting
• prep, touch-up, finish in guest areas
• Drywall
• small patches, tape, mud
• Locks
• replace/repair locks, latches, hinges, door closers
• Light electrical
• outlets, switches, light fixtures, bulbs (no panel work)
• Light plumbing
• faucets, small leaks, toilet fill valves, sink drains (no major plumbing)
• General upkeep
• caulking, weather stripping, power washing

REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years as carpenter / handyman / maintenance
• must have carpentry + tile experience
• Experience with ceramic tiles AND carpet tiles
• boat experience is a plus
• Able to work

ON BOATS

• boats move, tight spaces, kneeling work
• Able to lift 50 lbs, work on ladders, indoors/outdoors
• Valid ID for Pier 40 background check (HRPT facility)
• Reliable, punctual, able to work alone
• Authorized to work in US, local to Manhattan / accessible to Pier 40

Pay:

$25.00
