Job Summary Harmony Builders is a high-end residential general contractor in Woodstock, NY. We're hiring a Laborer / Carpenter's Helper — the entry point into carpentry on our crews. You'll work alongside experienced carpenters and support every stage of a project. It's a supportive role, but one with real responsibility. We're looking for someone with some exposure to construction who wants to learn the trade properly, not just put in hours. What You'll Do Construction process — Assist with a wide range of construction tasks under the direction of carpenters and site leads, taking on more hands-on carpentry work as your skills develop. Materials handling — Receive, organize, and protect materials and equipment on site. Let your lead know when commonly used supplies are running low. Daily setup and protection — Set up and break down tools and equipment each day, and protect finished surfaces such as floors, cabinets, and trim from damage. Cleaning and organizing — Keep the job site clean, orderly, and safe to work in. Skill development — Learn construction methods, tools, and terminology, and build on them steadily. What We're Looking For Some exposure to construction or the trades preferred — prior site experience, related hands-on work, or time with hand and power tools. Genuine interest in learning carpentry as a craft. Ability to retain, follow, and repeat instructions, and to ask questions when something isn't clear. Reliability — consistent attendance and punctuality matter as much as skill does. Works well with others and communicates clearly with crew and leads. Basic math skills and good manual dexterity. Physical stamina — able to repeatedly lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather and seasons. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites.
