Job Description

At Rockin' K General Contracting, one of our core pillars is People & Culture. For us, "People" means both our clients and our team. We believe the best client experiences are created by teams who trust each other, communicate well, and take pride in what they're building together. We're hiring a Journeyman Carpenter who can work independently across multiple trades — not someone who wants to specialize in one thing and never touch anything else. This is a role for someone who already has real skill and wants to keep sharpening it while helping develop the apprentices coming up behind them. How To Apply; Please apply with a resume, or a bit about yourself, and include 2-3 sentences on what draws you to a role like this and where you see yourself growing from here. Our Team & Culture We work hard to create an environment where:
  • Teammates respect and support one another
  • Expectations are clear and communicated openly
  • Questions are encouraged and mistakes are treated as learning opportunities
  • Everyone takes responsibility for their role on the jobsite
  • Wins are shared, and challenges are faced together What You'll Be Doing
  • Executing high-quality work across framing, finish carpentry, drywall, tile, and more — with minimal need for direction
  • Reading plans and solving problems on-site without hand-holding
  • Mentoring apprentices and modeling technique, pace, and professionalism
  • Communicating proactively with the Foreman about progress and challenges
  • Helping keep jobsites clean, safe, and respectful of clients' homes
  • Using Buildertrend to track time and daily work How We Take Care of Clients We expect our team to be respectful of clients' homes, schedules, and personal space, communicate clearly — especially when something changes — and take responsibility when mistakes happen and help make them right. Trust is earned daily, not assumed. What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of hands-on residential construction experience, or clearly demonstrated equivalent skill
  • Comfortable working across trades within a single job, not just one specialty
  • Strong tool proficiency: saws, nail guns, layout tools
  • Reliable, communicates well, takes ownership without needing to be told twice
  • A genuine interest in developing toward Foreman over time What We Offer
  • $30-38/hr, depending on experience
  • Clear expectations, role definitions, and performance metrics
  • A team culture built around quality, professionalism, and people
  • Long-term growth opportunities for the right person This Role Is NOT For You If
  • You want to specialize in one trade and never touch anything else
  • You need constant direction to stay on task
  • You're not comfortable being accountable for the quality of your own work
  • You're looking for short-term or seasonal work Requirements / Condition of Employment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must maintain a valid Oregon Driver's License as a condition of employment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work outdoors in varying weather, and be on your feet for extended periods
