Job Title:
Carpenter - $30 an hour! Job Description We seek an experienced carpenter to join a dynamic team working on large-scale commercial projects, including office buildings, retail centers, schools, and healthcare facilities. In this role, you perform structural framing, drywall installation, and finish carpentry while ensuring all work complies with commercial building codes and safety standards. Responsibilities Interpret architectural plans, blueprints, and specifications for commercial construction projects. Construct, install, and repair structural components such as walls, floors, ceilings, partitions, and doors. Perform both rough and finish carpentry tasks using a wide range of hand and power tools. Install metal and wood framing, drywall, acoustic ceilings, millwork, and trim work with precision and quality. Install and adjust commercial doors and related hardware to meet project requirements. Ensure all work complies with applicable commercial building codes, project specifications, and safety regulations. Collaborate effectively with other trades, including electricians, plumbers, and HVAC technicians, to coordinate workflow and sequencing. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site in accordance with OSHA and company safety protocols. Inspect completed work for accuracy, quality, and alignment with project plans, making adjustments as needed. Use tape measures, hand tools, and power tools accurately to build and assemble structures. Perform general labor tasks related to commercial construction as needed to support project progress. Lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds as part of daily duties. Essential Skills 3-5 years of carpentry experience in construction environments. 1-3 years of commercial construction experience on large-scale projects. 1-3 years of drywall installation experience. Proficiency in rough carpentry, including structural framing and metal stud installation. Strong finish carpentry skills, including detailed trim work and millwork installation. Ability to accurately interpret and work from blueprints, architectural plans, and specifications. Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools, including tape measures and construction equipment. Experience with metal framing in commercial construction settings. Capability to install and adjust commercial doors and related components. Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds safely and repeatedly. Clean driving record suitable for traveling to various job sites. Ability to pass drug screening and background checks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in new commercial construction projects such as office buildings, retail centers, schools, and healthcare facilities. Knowledge of commercial building codes and industry standards. Familiarity with acoustic ceiling installation and related systems. Understanding of OSHA safety protocols and commitment to safe work practices. Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple trades on busy commercial job sites. Strong attention to detail and quality in both rough and finish carpentry. Reliable transportation to reach job sites within the designated travel radius. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based on active commercial construction sites, working Monday through Friday from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Projects are located within roughly a two-and-a-half-hour radius of Mercersburg, Pennsylvania, requiring travel to various job locations. You work primarily with metal and wood framing, drywall, acoustic ceilings, millwork, commercial doors, and a full range of hand and power tools in a fast-paced, field-based environment that emphasizes safety, productivity, and teamwork. Typical attire is appropriate construction workwear suitable for commercial job sites. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mercersburg, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
