Job Description

About this role Seeking an experienced Concrete Carpenter Journeyman for industrial and power plant projects in Abilene, TX. You will read prints and specs, construct and brace formwork, set embeds and rebar, pour and finish concrete, and inspect work to ensure it meets plans and quality standards. This is a per diem travel assignment on heavy industrial sites. Work includes heights, confined spaces, and variable hours (overtime, weekends as needed). Strong safety focus and reliable, experienced carpenters who can work independently and as part of a crew are needed. What you'll do Read and interpret prints, plans, drawings and specifications for concrete structures Measure, cut, assemble and install built-in-place or prefabricated wooden forms and bracing Set embeds, anchor bolts, rebar and tie-rods; insert spreaders and maintain specified dimensions Pour, consolidate and finish concrete to the project specifications and surface requirements Inspect work for compliance with plans and quality standards; identify and correct deficiencies Follow site safety procedures, use PPE, and work safely at heights and in confined spaces What we're looking for Proven experience as a concrete/formwork carpenter journeyman on industrial or power plant projects Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, layouts and specifications Skilled with hand and power tools, layout tools, measuring and cutting, and formwork hardware Able to work at heights, in confined spaces and on uneven surfaces; comfortable with ladders/scaffolds Able to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shift Willingness to follow directions, communicate clearly with supervision and work as part of a crew Qualifications Journeyman-level experience in concrete formwork and finishing Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing, fit-for-duty medical, and background check Own basic carpenter tools required for the trade Valid driver's license and reliable transportation OSHA 10 (preferred) or equivalent safety training What we offer Per diem for travel assignments Project-based work on industrial/power plant sites in Abilene, TX Site-specific safety orientation and ongoing safety enforcement Opportunities for overtime and extended assignments Work with experienced crews on heavy civil and concrete formwork projects Ready to apply?
