Job Title:
Concrete Carpenter Job Description This role involves working on commercial and industrial concrete foundation projects, starting with one of two jobs in South Richmond for several weeks and then transitioning to a large-scale project in Culpepper, VA. You will build and set forms, install, set, and tie rebar, follow grade using laser equipment, and perform a variety of tasks related to concrete foundations, slabs, and exterior pads. Responsibilities Build and set concrete forms for foundations, walls, slabs, and exterior pads. Install, set, and tie rebar according to project specifications and blueprints. Follow grade using laser equipment to ensure accurate elevations and alignment. Dig footings and prepare subgrade for concrete foundation work. Construct foundation walls and perform necessary backfill operations. Prep and pour concrete slabs, including finishing work as required. Install and pour exterior concrete pads in commercial and industrial settings. Interpret and work from blueprints and construction drawings related to concrete foundations. Perform general labor tasks associated with concrete construction and formwork. Handle heavy lifting and material movement safely on active construction sites. Work collaboratively with the site crew to complete concrete pours efficiently and on schedule. Travel to project sites as required, starting locally in South Richmond and then to Culpepper, VA. Essential Skills At least 1 year of concrete carpentry experience. Hands-on experience with commercial and industrial foundation construction. Proficiency in building and setting concrete forms. Ability to install, set, and tie rebar accurately. Skill in setting grade and following grade using laser equipment. Experience pouring and forming concrete for foundations, slabs, and pads. Concrete finishing skills for slabs and exterior surfaces. Ability to read and interpret blueprints related to concrete construction. Capability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks. Experience with concrete pours and formwork in active construction environments. General labor skills relevant to concrete and carpentry work. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge in foundation construction in commercial or industrial projects. Experience working on large-scale concrete foundation jobs. Comfort working in varying weather conditions on active construction sites. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Reliability and willingness to travel from local projects to Culpepper, VA as needed. The setting is an active construction site that requires safe movement around heavy equipment, materials, and ongoing concrete pours, with tasks that involve heavy lifting and outdoor work in varying conditions. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hopewell, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
