• Job Title: Journeyman Carpenter
• Job Description
• The Journeyman Carpenter will perform a wide range of carpentry and construction tasks, including framing, installing doors and windows, and reading blueprints to complete projects accurately and efficiently. This role involves both interior and exterior work, build-outs, and finish carpentry on commercial projects.
• Responsibilities
• + Perform framing work for structures according to project specifications and building codes.

+ Install doors, windows, and related hardware with precision and attention to detail.

+ Read and interpret blueprints and construction plans to execute work accurately.

+ Complete interior and exterior painting tasks as part of overall project scope.

+ Carry out build-outs and renovations in commercial settings, including finish carpentry.

+ Apply troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve construction and carpentry issues on site.

+ Participate in lead abatement activities as required, following safety guidelines and procedures.

+ Collaborate with other trades and team members to ensure projects are completed on time and to quality standards.

+ Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.

+ Follow all site safety rules and regulations while working indoors and outdoors.

• Essential Skills
• + Minimum of 7+ years of carpentry experience.

+ Strong framing skills, including layout and structural work.

+ Proficiency in installing doors and windows.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.

+ Experience with interior and exterior painting.

+ Demonstrated skill in commercial carpentry and build-outs.

+ Solid troubleshooting abilities for construction and carpentry issues.

+ Ability to perform finish carpentry with a high level of craftsmanship.

+ Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• This is a Permanent position based out of Newport News, VA.
• Pay and Benefits
• The pay range for this position is $45000.00 - $55000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
