• Job Title: Plumbing Service Technician (Plumber Mechanic)

• This role focuses on providing high-quality plumbing service, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance for a mix of commercial and residential customers in the Hampton Roads area. You will work on systems previously installed in locations such as convenience stores and commercial buildings, ensuring reliable operation and timely repairs while delivering professional customer service.
• Responsibilities
• + Perform service, repair, and maintenance on plumbing systems for commercial and residential clients in the Hampton Roads area.

+ Troubleshoot plumbing issues, diagnose root causes, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.

+ Conduct preventive maintenance on plumbing systems to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.

+ Install, repair, and replace piping systems, including PVC and other materials, according to specifications and industry standards.

+ Read and interpret blueprints and plumbing schematics to plan and execute installations and repairs accurately.

+ Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, safety standards, and company procedures.

+ Document work performed, including materials used, time spent, and system status after service.

+ Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding issues found, work performed, and recommended follow-up.

+ Use mechanical aptitude and tools safely and effectively to perform plumbing and mechanical tasks.

+ Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled, responding to service calls and emergencies when required.

• Essential Skills
• + Approximately 4 years of plumbing service experience, ideally in both residential and commercial environments.

+ Strong plumbing knowledge, including installation, repair, and maintenance of piping systems.

+ Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand and power tools safely.

+ Experience with troubleshooting plumbing systems and resolving complex issues.

+ Ability to perform preventive maintenance on plumbing and related mechanical systems.

+ Proficiency working with PVC piping and related fittings.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

+ Experience in construction or mechanical service environments.

+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

+ Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently in the field.

• Additional Skills & Qualifications
• + Residential and commercial plumbing service experience is welcome and highly valued.

+ Experience servicing convenience stores, commercial buildings, or similar facilities.

+ Comfort working in a fast-paced service environment with varying job sites.

+ Good communication and customer service skills when interacting with clients.

+ Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively across multiple service calls.

• Work Environment
• You will work primarily in the field, servicing a mix of commercial and residential sites, including convenience stores and commercial buildings.

Typical working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work as needed. Technicians participate in an on-call rotation approximately every eighth week to handle urgent service needs. The role involves traveling between job sites, working with plumbing tools and materials such as PVC piping, and operating within active construction or facility environments. Standard field attire appropriate for plumbing and mechanical service work is expected, with adherence to safety guidelines and protective equipment requirements

• Pay and Benefits
• The pay range for this position is $20.

00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
