Position Summary ALK Asphalt is seeking an experienced Asphalt & Concrete Foreman to lead field crews and oversee asphalt paving, asphalt repair, and concrete projects throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong experience in both asphalt and concrete construction. This person must be able to organize crews, plan daily production, operate equipment when needed, maintain jobsite safety, and ensure work is completed correctly, efficiently, and according to project specifications. This is a working foreman position. The successful candidate will be expected to lead from the field and work alongside the crew when necessary. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise asphalt and concrete crews on active jobsites Review project plans, scopes of work, schedules, and job specifications Coordinate daily manpower, equipment, materials, and deliveries Direct asphalt paving, patching, grading, milling, sealcoat, and repair work Direct concrete demolition, forming, grading, pouring, finishing, and cleanup Confirm proper elevations, slopes, depths, compaction, and finished grades Ensure work meets company quality standards and customer expectations Complete daily reports, timecards, production quantities, and job documentation accurately Communicate job progress, delays, material needs, and field concerns to Project Management Coordinate with subcontractors, inspectors, customers, and other trades Enforce company safety policies and conduct daily jobsite safety meetings Maintain an organized, productive, and professional jobsite Monitor equipment use and report maintenance or repair needs promptly Train and develop crew members while holding employees accountable for performance Help troubleshoot field conditions and resolve problems without unnecessary delays Required Qualifications At least 3-5 years of asphalt and/or concrete construction experience Previous experience as a foreman, lead person, or crew supervisor Strong working knowledge of asphalt paving and concrete installation procedures Ability to read plans, measurements, elevations, and project specifications Experience coordinating crews, equipment, materials, and production schedules Ability to calculate material quantities and track daily production Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to complete accurate timecards and daily job reports Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Reliable transportation and consistent attendance Ability to work outdoors in Arizona weather conditions Ability to work early mornings, extended shifts, nights, or weekends when projects require it Ability to pass all required pre-employment screenings Preferred Qualifications Experience with commercial paving, parking lots, roadways, and civil construction Experience with concrete sidewalks, curbs, gutters, ramps, pads, and flatwork Experience operating asphalt or heavy construction equipment Knowledge of ADA requirements and applicable construction standards OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus Physical Requirements This position requires prolonged standing, walking, bending, climbing, and working outdoors. Employees must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and safely work around moving vehicles, construction equipment, asphalt, concrete, dust, noise, and changing weather conditions.
